Upright meaning

The Hermit is solitude with intent. Not because you're avoiding people — because you can't hear yourself with this much noise. When this card lands, you're being asked to take a deliberate step away from the input so you can find the signal again.

He's also the mentor figure, externally or internally. Either you're being guided by someone whose presence asks you to grow, or you're becoming that figure for someone else. The Hermit gives counsel from experience, not from theory.

Reversed meaning

Reversed, The Hermit reads as isolation that's started to harden into avoidance. Solitude is a tool; isolation is a wall. The card gently asks whether you're protecting your peace or hiding from your life.

It can also be too much advice — a feed full of voices, too many group chats, taking everyone's input but your own. The Hermit reversed asks you to put down the input pipe and write your own list for a week.
